eLearning Services, TAFE Queensland, provides Videostreaming services via the use of Sonic Foundry's Mediasite software application. This platform allows teachers to reach flexible and distance students, with both live and stored streams, across a low bandwidth Internet connection.

Videostreaming is a free tool for all TAFE Queensland staff to utilise, with videos being accessible 24 X 7, on most devices. Streams can be recorded live or made for use at a later date. There are several ways to create a Videostreaming session. View Videostreaming - Videostreaming - How to Choose a Recording Option to see which is best for you.

There are three main components of the Videostreaming window:

  • The video window which provides full audio / visual of the presenter
  • The still graphic window which displays PowerPoint and other images to support delivery
  • The e-mail facility which allows students to directly e-mail their teacher without having to exit the stream

Below you will find information for presenters and students on the use and application of Videostreaming within a vocational delivery context. For more information please contact Shannon Jones, Videostreaming Co-ordinator, by
email or phone (07) 4862 7403.
