Delivering e-learning in a fully integrated technology environment - point of presence convergence of technologies and their potential impact on learning communities.
This session will look at Microsoft's Producer for PowerPoint 2003 and its potential of capturing IP for varied distribution of learning resources. During the session participants will be able to get some experience in capturing video and audio and using this media in conjunction with other resources to produce an independent web-based resource. Examples of how this software has been used in contexts within Education Queensland will be demonstrated. A training CD-ROM will be provided to participants who attend the workshop.
Purpose:
A toolbox is a collection of web based learning materials to assist in the online delivery of qualifications from recognised training packages. There are more than 70 toolboxes currently available in subject areas ranging from tourism, meat processing and hairdressing to youth work and information technology. Toolboxes are motivating training materials that feature interactive resources and effective teaching and learning activities. Toolboxes are an extremely cost effective method of supporting online learning and blended delivery.
Many toolbox users want to personalise toolbox content, or customise it to suit a specific client group or training situation. This session will introduce the basics of customising Toolboxes. It will cover implementation options, some of the skills needed for customisation and tools and resources available to assist with customisation. There will be a hands-on session, which will cover how to change an image, edit a page, hide a competency and add a web link. Some basic HTML skills will be covered in this session.
